Rev Captain Simon Okoyo introduces Dr Terry Garde to friends at University

The IMM representative in Kenya is the Reverend Captain Simon Okoyo is presently enrolled full time at the Christian Africa International University in Nairobi where he is doing a Master’s degree.  Dr. Terry Garde was blessed to meet him there last year while both were attending a  conference on campus.

Terry Garde vists Revd. Simon at University

They spent several hours together, and Simon introduced Terry to numerous fellow students from other African countries who have an interest in Mining God’s Way (MGW). These included Niger (Ousman), Ethiopia (Gedo), Malawi (Hennock), Uganda (Zac), Congo (Alfred and Philemon) and some faculty members, all hoping that MGW might gather momentum across Africa.

The picture shows Ousman from Niger and Simon wearing a tie. Please pray for future outreach into all mining areas of Africa.

Terry subsequently met Simon and his family in Masara where they live and they are all well. His eldest daughter, Vivian, has now finished secondary school and is hoping to enrol at a college to study hotel management. She could then help Simon and his wife with running the restaurant they established some years ago. Managed sustainably, the enterprise could provide finances to supplement his income, both as an Anglican priest and our support as an evangelist in local mining areas.

The family appeals for your prayers towards raising the finance for Vivian’s studies.

Zimbabwe
Rev Tafadzwa Chikudo visited the Mazambane gold mine, where he met two groups of miners. He noticed one young man had a great need of salvation in Christ. He had run away from home and was now involved in drink and drugs. After two hours of conversation and counselling the young man acknowledged his sin and accepted Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. Preparations to arrange for him to return to his family to seek forgiveness and reconciliation are in hand. Praise God.
